PawPortion calculators use industry-standard veterinary formulas (RER ร life-stage factor, based on NRC 2006 and WSAVA guidelines). These provide reasonable starting points, but individual pets may vary by up to 25% from the calculated values. Body condition should always be monitored and used to adjust feeding amounts.
If your pet is in distress, has eaten something potentially toxic, has stopped eating for more than 24 hours (cats: 12 hours), or shows signs of severe illness, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital immediately. Do not rely on a website.
